With a wide range of graphic novels, early readers, and classic titles, every student can find a book that feels exciting and attainable. I have already seen students eagerly picking up books, talking about stories with their peers, and choosing to read during free moments. These new materials are helping them build reading fluency, strengthen decoding skills, and deepen comprehension—all while developing a genuine love of reading. There is something incredibly powerful about watching a child light up over a brand-new book they are proud to read.\r\n\r\nThese books are also making a meaningful impact in our instruction. We are especially excited to use several of the nonfiction and animal-themed texts as we begin our upcoming informational writing unit on animals. Having engaging, accessible texts allows students to research, gather facts, and write with confidence and enthusiasm. Your support has given my students both the tools and the inspiration they need to grow as readers and writers, and I am deeply grateful for the difference you have made in our classroom. Thank you for believing in my students and helping them shine.","fullyFundedDate":1760365161652,"projectUrl":"project/today-a-reader-tomorrow-a-leader/9769757/","projectTitle":"Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chrobak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9133257_orig.jpg?crop=1676,1676,x0,y189&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690924052067","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-sasiela"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22268","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":454,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":25,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.9,"schoolId":22268,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Minisink Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Minisink Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/minisink-valley-central-school-district/minisink-valley-elementary-school/22268"}
