With these materials, students are able to practice the same services and techniques they may encounter in a salon setting. One of our most exciting classroom projects is creating full nail sets where students can practice proper preparation, application, shaping, design, and finishing techniques. Having access to the appropriate supplies allows students to learn through practice, make mistakes, problem-solve, and build confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw all of the new nail materials, their excitement was immediate! They were eager to look through the supplies, discuss the different products and techniques, and start creating. Many students were especially excited about the Gel-X tips and nail art supplies because they had seen these trends online or in salons but had never had the opportunity to practice them in a classroom setting. It was wonderful to see students become so engaged and enthusiastic about learning. The new materials made the lesson feel more like a real salon experience and helped students see how the skills they are learning can translate into future careers.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building on these foundational skills as students work toward completing professional-quality nail sets. Students will practice Gel-X and acrylic application, proper shaping and structure, and increasingly detailed nail art designs. As their skills improve, they will have opportunities to create their own designs while focusing on creativity, sanitation, precision, and professionalism. These resources are helping us turn our classroom into a space where students can explore their creativity while developing valuable career-ready skills.
