Many of these students have not visited our public library. Our school's library, while big in size, has many old, worn books. Due to the age of some of the books, they are uninteresting and out-of-date for many. \r\nI was sure to select titles of books that students have been requesting over the years. Some chapter books, some graphic novels, some fun easy-reading, and some pertaining to our Character Ed lessons. I also chose some fun \"lighting effects\" to encourage a \"Drop Everything and Read\" time. The students relax under the stars while given the opportunity to read and explore the many new books. \r\nOur students at Jericho Elementary were surprised to find out so many people they didn't even know cared enough to donate to their school. Something so simple as newer books and fun lighting can light a light and encourage a new love for reading. This is a website that educators use to purchase useful resources for their class.\r\nIn our case, many of our curriculum units follow the general education standards and are far too challenging for my special needs students. They enjoy playing the board games, as well as building using the magnetic tiles and the Jenga blocks.
