Seeing all of the supplies come in was incredibly exciting because I know how much these resources will mean to my students throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite additions is our new cozy rug for our calm corner. This space gives students a comfortable place to pause, take a breath, reset, and practice the coping skills we work on together. For some students, having a safe and calming space at school can make all the difference in being able to regulate their emotions and get back to learning.\r\n\r\nOur Learning Spot books will also become an important part of our counseling space. Books give us a wonderful way to talk about emotions, friendships, problem-solving, confidence, and difficult experiences in a way that feels relatable and comfortable for students.\r\n\r\nThe art supplies are especially exciting because creativity can be such a powerful form of self-expression. Not every student can easily put their feelings into words, and art gives them another way to communicate, process emotions, and simply enjoy being creative.\r\n\r\nAnd the snacks may seem like a small thing, but they are incredibly meaningful. Having snacks available means I can help meet a basic need when a student comes into my office hungry. Sometimes a snack, a quiet place to sit, and a caring adult are exactly what a student needs to feel supported enough to talk and engage.\r\n\r\nAs a school counselor, I want my office to feel like more than just a place students come when they're having a difficult day. I want it to be a place where they feel safe, welcomed, understood, and cared for. These donations are helping me create exactly that environment.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their well-being. Your generosity has helped turn our counseling space into an even more welcoming place for students to learn, create, regulate, connect, and grow.\r\n\r\nThank you for making a difference in the lives of my students! ❤️","fullyFundedDate":1788094193987,"projectUrl":"project/little-love/10423179/","projectTitle":"Little love!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tubbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10567313"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_20991","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":433,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":97,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":77.3,"schoolId":20991,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison Central School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Madison Central School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/madison-central-school-district/madison-central-school/20991"}
