My high school math students' eyes lit up as we unpacked everything together. One student immediately exclaimed, \"Wait, are we getting real plants and a hydroponics system in here?!\" Another eagerly plugged in the visual timer and admired the warm, cozy glow of our new floor lamps, noting how much more like a welcoming \"home\" the classroom felt. That immediate sense of pride and comfort set the tone for everything that followed.\r\n\r\nWe are putting these new resources to work every single day, and the transformation in our classroom environment has been remarkable. During our recent unit on exponential growth and real-world modeling, we used our hydroponics system and live plants as a living mathematical model. Students collected and graphed daily growth measurements, turning abstract algebraic concepts into tangible data they could see and touch.\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, the MOOKA air purifier and soft floor lighting have created a genuinely calming oasis. During our intensive collaborative problem-solving sessions—where groups work together at whiteboards around the room—the storage caddies and mobile cart have cut transition times in half. Students grab their group supplies, organized neatly on the cart, and dive straight into math without missing a beat. The visual timer has also been a game-changer for pacing our station rotations, keeping everyone focused and accountable during timed activities.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Classroom?\r\nBuilding on this momentum, our next steps involve a cross-curricular project where students will track the plant growth data from our hydroponics system to calculate rates of change, write equations, and predict future yields. They will also use our transparent sticky notes to annotate complex problem-solving steps directly over graphs and worksheets without obscuring the diagrams underneath.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students have a vibrant, organized, and peaceful space that honors their hard work and makes them feel valued. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1790951037524,"projectUrl":"project/cultivating-a-calming-space-for-active-l/10606216/","projectTitle":"Cultivating a Calming Space for Active Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Catanzaro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5985723_orig.png?crop=549,549,x94,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1789217577905","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5985723"},{"teacherId":10173783,"projectId":9586244,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our school.
