Your generosity has provided my sixth-grade students with new books that they will be able to read, discuss, and experience together as a class.\r\n\r\nNovel studies are such an important part of my ELA classroom because they give students the opportunity to become completely immersed in a story while strengthening their reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, critical thinking, and discussion skills. Having enough copies of a novel for students to each have their own book makes such a difference. It allows every student to follow along, annotate, revisit important passages, and truly take ownership of their reading.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, these books will help my students discover the joy of getting lost in a great story. For many of my students, a classroom novel can introduce them to a book, author, or genre they may not have chosen on their own. I love watching students become invested in the characters, debate their decisions, make connections to their own lives, and get excited to find out what happens next.\r\n\r\nYour donation is helping me create those meaningful reading experiences for my students.
