Your generosity provided our learners with snacks, toys, and other items that they could use to build a small business of their own, all with the goal of raising money for an educational trip to Washington, D.C. What made this project so exciting was that it gave learners the opportunity to work toward something meaningful together while developing responsibility, teamwork, and real-world skills along the way.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, I left the district at the end of last school year, so I didn't get to see the school store through its final stages or witness its official opening. However, I've stayed in touch with former colleagues, and I've heard that the learners are still incredibly grateful for your donations and are planning to launch the store soon! While I wish I could be there to see their hard work come to life, it makes me so happy to know that your generosity is still helping them move toward their goal. Knowing that they have continued working toward this project long after I left is a wonderful reminder of how much these opportunities can mean to young people.\r\n\r\nBeyond the supplies themselves, your donation helped show my learners that big goals become more achievable when a community comes together to support them. A trip to Washington, D.C., is about so much more than visiting a new place; it is an opportunity to experience history, connect classroom learning to the real world, and create memories that can last a lifetime. Thank you for investing in these learners, believing in their goals, and giving them the resources to turn an idea into something real. Even though I won't be there to see the school store open its doors, I am incredibly grateful that you helped give these learners the opportunity to make it happen.","fullyFundedDate":1777984312066,"projectUrl":"project/capitalism-to-get-to-the-capital/10192984/","projectTitle":"Capitalism to Get to the Capital","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Caughey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10479199"},{"teacherId":10479199,"projectId":10269135,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making our beanbag chair project possible! What might have seemed like a simple request for three comfortable chairs turned into something much more meaningful for our classroom. The chairs were an instant hit, especially with learners who benefited from having alternative seating options throughout the day. Before long, they became a favorite spot to relax, recharge, and feel comfortable in our classroom. They even encouraged learners from other advisories to stop by and spend time with us, helping build a stronger sense of community. It is amazing how three soft chairs could make such a difference in bringing people together!\r\n\r\nAlthough I no longer work in the district, I made the intentional decision to leave the chairs behind for the learners who used and loved them every day. They belonged with those kids, and I wanted future learners to experience the same comfort and sense of belonging. However, I believe the most important impact of your generosity went beyond the chairs themselves. By taking the time to support our classroom, you showed my learners that people are willing to give, that small acts of kindness can make a real difference, and that a community becomes stronger when people invest in one another. You didn't just give my learners a comfortable place to sit; you helped show them what it looks like when people care.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for investing in my learners. Your generosity made a difference that extended far beyond what we could have imagined when we first submitted the request. I hope you know how much your kindness meant to our classroom community and how grateful I am that you helped make it possible.","fullyFundedDate":1778782402112,"projectUrl":"project/a-cozy-classroom/10269135/","projectTitle":"A Cozy Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Caughey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10479199"},{"teacherId":10430255,"projectId":10652112,"letterContent":"Thank you for the donations to our reading corner. Students were so excited to learn of the project and they thank you for your generosity. Readers have already begun to take advantage of the soft lighting and comfortable seats. I am seeing students of all levels taking advantage of the space. \r\n\r\nOur class requirements include silent reading at least three times a week for 15 minutes. We have to use timers so all students get a chance to use the space! If we had room for more bean bags, we would have requested them, but space is limited. \r\n\r\nAs part of their silent reading, they are to create a mini report on their books. The requirements are to include an alternate book cover, choose three quotes from the book and write why they are important, give a 1-5 star review, and write a paragraph to others on why they might choose or enjoy this book. We will collect these one page reports in a binder, so students can learn about new books they might want to read.\r\n\r\nThe Lightning Eagles thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1790096058563,"projectUrl":"project/calming-reading-nook-for-teens/10652112/","projectTitle":"Calming Reading Nook for Teens","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rosalie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10430255"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96403","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":70,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":33,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":78.6,"schoolId":96403,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lafayette Big Picture School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lafayette Big Picture School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/la-fayette-central-school-district/lafayette-big-picture-school/96403"}
