I am so happy my goals are aligned with hers and I can continue bringing STEM to the students of Woodmere Middle School.\r\n\r\nTo begin, the students followed along with a tutorial on the Hummingbird website to learn how to identify and properly work with the parts used in robotics. The students then worked in groups to create a Rover robot that utilized servos, sensors, and LEDs . Their Rovers were able to move, make sound, and light up. The students were also able to be creative and create a persona for their robots. Finally, the students needed to code the robots to complete various tasks. \r\n\r\nI am so grateful that my students were able to have these experiences and learn skills that will help them in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1755792729002,"projectUrl":"project/taking-the-future-by-storm-with-robotics/9400744/","projectTitle":"Taking the Future by Storm With Robotics!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hoolan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7069984"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21757","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":639,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":60,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":21757,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Woodmere Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Woodmere Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/hewlett-woodmere-union-free-school-district/woodmere-middle-school/21757"}
