These kits will be used for decades at my school building essential literacy, tactile and interpersonal skills. Character education is a central theme in my classroom, these kits provide an engaging way to deliver the lessons. Given health issues that plague our youth, preparing nutritious meals is critical. Lately we've been spending time analyzing the ingredients that are in highly processed foods. I've discovered that a majority of my students' diet is ultra processed. They have little experience with fresh, whole foods, both consuming and understanding the health benefits. Cooking using simple, direct from nature ingredients is eye opening for our youth. Healthy can be delicious given natural herbs, spices and open minds.
