Cafe Ole is a special part of our classroom where students get to run their very own coffee shop. What started as a fun classroom idea has become something our students really look forward to and take pride in. They love having jobs and responsibilities, whether it is taking orders, preparing coffee, greeting customers, or making sure everything is ready for the next order. The new materials have helped us make Cafe Ole feel even more like a real business while giving students meaningful opportunities to practice everyday life skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, they were so excited! There is something special about watching them take ownership of their jobs, work together, and feel proud of what they are accomplishing. Cafe Ole is about so much more than making and serving coffee. It gives our students the chance to build confidence, practice communication, learn about money, problem-solve, and experience what it means to be part of a team. Moving forward, we will continue growing our little business, giving each student opportunities to try different jobs and take on new responsibilities. The money we earn also helps support special experiences for our students, including field trips and other memorable opportunities.
