One of the best parts of this has been seeing how students feel comfortable in exploring their mental health. This not only helps them to feel more in-tune with their emotions, it also allows them to more easily share their feeling with their counselors. \r\nThe pens and stickers were a great addition to my prize box and helps to alleviate the stigma around mental health.","fullyFundedDate":1726830862723,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-matters-in-english-class/8797894/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Matters in English Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Svec","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6566001_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1579303127789","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6566001"},{"teacherId":9765556,"projectId":8803738,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation! Kids are very excited for all the lovely music books they are able to use for school. Looking through a real book and not the internet is such a game changer in their focus. Thank you for the speaker for musical practices. \r\nThis is the first musical before Covid, and students were very worried about this, but they were able to receive the speaker and play music during rehearsals to be more prepared. The speaker is also helping build room relationships by being silly and sharing with one another, which for my middle schoolers is a big step. \r\nWe were able to upgrade our supplies in the classroom which is keeping more music students and hopefully will entice others to join. \r\nIn our area, over half the students live in poverty, know a friend who has interacted with CPS, or knows an adult in their life who has taken or is currently taking drugs. \r\nThank you for helping create school a place where kids feel excited to come to school.","fullyFundedDate":1729215948914,"projectUrl":"project/reinvention-of-music-in-the-classroom/8803738/","projectTitle":"Reinvention of Music in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Yetter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9765556"},{"teacherId":9756324,"projectId":8797595,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for supporting public education! The cushions, lighting, and book bins were a great help in making our classroom into a safe, inviting reading sanctuary for our students. The students were so excited to see the new lighting and to help finish to organize our bookshelves. \r\n\r\nThe students are anxious to have quiet reading time so that they can turn on the soft lighting, quickly find their book and grab a comfy cushion to sit on to read. \r\n\r\nWe were humbled and very appreciative that we were offered this help within our classroom. The students are engaged and utilizing all of the tools that came from this project. They love the books! They have more choices and are inspired to know that these gifts came from people who believe in them. \r\n\r\nEvery day the students come in and the atmosphere is relaxing; they settle in and are ready to read and work on their various projects. For the students that struggle with the wiggles, they utilize the fidgets to help them stay focused. This has helped them to learn to enjoy our reading groups more. I would say that the cushions are probably the students' most favorite item from this project. \r\n\r\nAs the middle school students learn about the changes in their environment (elementary to middle school) they also learn that they change as well(emotionally and physically). The books provided from this project are a great reference and tool for them to get answers for questions that they don't necessarily enjoy discussing with everyone.\r\n \r\nThank you so much for your generosity and encouragement in helping our students with their success in our learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1730733511975,"projectUrl":"project/relax-and-read/8799810/","projectTitle":"Relax and Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Riling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9759848"},{"teacherId":9773569,"projectId":8813464,"letterContent":"My student have been so excited to see what their special project would be for the month. In November, they made soap. You should have heard the Ohh's and Ahh's when they finally got to unmold their soap and smell it for the first time. When they first saw the soap they said \"There is no way that we are going to make beautiful swirly colored luscious smelling soaps from that plain block of white nothing!\" but they did and they loved the experience. In December, they painted homemade grocery bags and or a magnet or ornament as a gift for a special someone. They were so excited to be able to give during the holiday season. Most of them have never had the resources to gift anyone an item during the holiday season. They felt a real sense of giving and pride in the act, and you made that possible for them. This month, we are on to painting and building birdfeeders to interact with our environment.
