Students are using the chairs in so many meaningful ways such as, curling up with a good book, relaxing while listening to read-alouds, and even collaborating with classmates during hands-on activities like building with LEGO bricks. One especially meaningful moment has been seeing my nonverbal students with disabilities use the chairs each week when they visit the library. They are consistently drawn to these seats, and it has been incredible to watch how comfortable, calm, and engaged they feel while using them. They truly love having a space that meets their needs.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new seating, their faces lit up with excitement and disbelief; they were truly amazed that our library had been transformed just for them. There were gasps, smiles, and so many \"thank yous\" shared right away. Since then, the chairs have continued to motivate students to spend more time reading and engaging with one another. As we move forward, students will be using this inviting space to participate in partner reading and small group discussions. Your support has not only given them a comfortable place to learn but has also helped nurture a love of reading and a sense of belonging in our library.","fullyFundedDate":1769354691028,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-library-for-hungry-minds/10054179/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy Library for Hungry Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Celeste","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10416644"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22567","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":370,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"13.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.1,"schoolId":22567,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Timber Point Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Timber Point Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/east-islip-union-free-school-district/timber-point-elementary-school/22567"}
