Harris. We officially started the books this week, and the students were excited!\r\n\r\nBefore we started, we had a group discussion to see what the students already knew. We discovered that while the Declaration is a foundation of our country, only a few students had heard of it before! To get our brains moving, the students completed a handout answering \"What I Know\" and \"What I Want to Know\" activity. \r\n\r\nIn the photos I shared, you can see them hard at work recording their initial thoughts and the questions they hope the book will answer.\r\n\r\nThe students are most excited about our \"Partner Reading\" sessions. They've just started pairing up to dive into the chapters together, helping each other with new vocabulary and chatting about the \"cool facts\" they find.\r\n\r\nOnce we finish the book, we're taking our learning into the digital world! The students will be using Minecraft Education to build and recreate scenes and characters that represent what they've learned about our nation's journey to independence.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just buy books; it sparked curiosity and provided a hands-on way for these 4th graders to connect with history.
