We have received our technology and headphones. The impact that it has made on our senior class and our graduates is phenomenal!!! The highlight from the use of our technology is that our senior class went on a trip to Tilden High School in Brooklyn in April and they attended a recruitment event. We had the honor of meeting Mr. Chris Gardner who Will Smith portrayed in the movie \"The Pursuit of Happiness\". The Chris Gardner Foundation along with the \"My Brother's Keeper\" and \"My Sister's Keeper\" collaborated to create this wonderful opportunity. All of the students with this rare invite were given the opportunity to be hired on the spot for vacation replacement cleaners for NYC public schools. When we returned from our trip the seniors gathered their laptops to apply for the position and five of them are already in the fingerprinting stage of the process. This is a summer opportunity but it is also a chance for students to gain experience and expand their career path. This is a foot in the door for them to progress into a prosperous career. It was a wonderful experience that they will never forget. Thank you for the technology!!! Thanks to your incredible generosity, our Home Economics classroom will soon be equipped with child-safety knives, brooms and dustpans, and Swiffer PowerMops! We are absolutely thrilled, and so are our students.\r\n\r\nYour donation to our Donor's Choose project goes far beyond providing new tools; it's an investment in the future of students with learning challenges. In our Home Economics curriculum, these items aren't just about teaching chores. They are fundamental to empowering our students with essential life skills, fostering their independence, and building their confidence.\r\n\r\nImagine the sense of accomplishment a student will feel as they safely and successfully prepare a simple meal using a child-safety knife. Think about the pride they'll take in keeping their learning space tidy with their own broom and dustpan, or the satisfaction of mastering the use of a Swiffer PowerMop. These seemingly small actions translate into monumental leaps in self-sufficiency and self-esteem for our students.\r\n\r\nFor students facing learning challenges, every opportunity to develop practical skills is invaluable. The tools you've provided will allow us to create a more hands-on, engaging, and accessible learning environment. This means our students can practice and refine skills in a safe and supportive setting, building the foundational knowledge and abilities they'll need to navigate daily life with greater ease and independence.\r\n\r\nYour belief in our students and our project truly makes a difference. You're helping us create a classroom where every student feels capable, empowered, and ready to tackle new challenges. We are so grateful for your commitment to their success and for helping us equip them with the tools they need to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible support.
