Your generosity means more than you could ever know. In District 75, resources are often limited, and many of the specialized tools our students truly need do not come through traditional school funding. Your willingness to support us fills a gap that is very real, and very deeply felt. I am incredibly grateful that you chose to invest in my students—children who are so deserving, bright, and capable when given the right supports.\r\n\r\nThe adapted books funded through this project will have a profound impact on my middle school students with autism and intellectual disabilities. Reading can be challenging for them, not because they lack curiosity, but because they require materials that match the way they learn—visually, repetitively, and through structured, meaningful supports. By adapting books with symbols, simplified text, hands-on components, and embedded AAC supports, I can give each student access to stories in a way that builds confidence and genuine comprehension. These books become more than materials—they become a doorway into literacy and connection.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, literacy is also tied closely to communication and vocational preparation. Many of my students use AAC devices or low-tech systems, and adapted books allow them to practice core words, job-related vocabulary, sequencing, and expressive language in authentic ways. These adapted materials also help prepare them for the vocational tasks they'll engage in throughout middle school and high school—tasks that require following steps, making choices, using their voice, and building independence. Your donation directly supports their readiness for meaningful futures.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your kindness truly matters here. You've given my students something that our school simply could not provide on its own, and the impact will reach far beyond this year. Every time a student turns a page, points to a symbol, uses their device to express a thought, or proudly reads aloud in their own way, you are part of that moment. Thank you for believing in my students and for standing behind educators who are trying every day to create opportunities where they are desperately needed.","fullyFundedDate":1734453569360,"projectUrl":"project/materials-for-adapted-success/8978526/","projectTitle":"Materials for Adapted Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Angelina's Speech Room","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/angelinaspeechteach"},{"teacherId":8499543,"projectId":6622588,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity towards my amazing students.
