It has provided a fun and engaging way for them to participate in physical activity while building important social and emotional skills. The students have enjoyed the challenge and excitement of the game, which has helped them connect with their peers and develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. These resources allow me to create hands-on, interactive activities such as matching, sorting, choice-making, and visual schedules that support communication, independence, and academic engagement. Because many of my students are nonverbal or have limited fine-motor skills, traditional worksheets are not accessible to them. The Velcro-based materials give my students a meaningful way to participate in lessons, demonstrate understanding, and complete tasks independently.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were immediately engaged and eager to explore them. Several students immediately reached for the Velcro visuals, smiling and interacting with the materials during work time. For students with significant disabilities, tactile, visually structured materials reduce frustration and increase confidence. The excitement and focus I observed reinforced just how important it is for my students to learn through hands-on, adaptive tools.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support ongoing lessons in daily living skills, communication, and foundational academics. The materials will be used to build individualized task systems, expand visual supports, and help students progress toward greater independence in their daily work. Your support has made a lasting impact by ensuring that all students, regardless of their ability to speak or write, have access to meaningful, inclusive learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1758899297046,"projectUrl":"project/from-chaos-to-calm-building-our-safe-le/9755092/","projectTitle":"From Chaos to Calm: Building Our Safe Learning Haven","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rivera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8808716_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1666564980265","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-rivera368"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_98791","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":77.4,"schoolId":98791,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P368K @ 293K on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P368K @ 293K","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/p368k-293k/98791"}
