Because of your generosity, my students now have access to tools that truly support their ability to focus, self-regulate, and engage in learning.\r\n\r\nWe are using the sensory lights, sit-and-spin, mini trampoline, and pin toy throughout the school day to help students regulate their bodies and minds. For example, during small-group instruction, students can take short movement or sensory breaks on the sit-and-spin or trampoline, which helps them return to learning calm and ready. The pin toy and sensory lights have been especially helpful during independent work time, giving students a safe, quiet way to stay focused and grounded.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. Several students immediately asked to try the new tools, and it was wonderful to see smiles and hear comments like, \"This helps my body feel calm,\" and \"I can pay attention better now.\" Even students who typically struggle with transitions were eager to participate and showed improved engagement.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to our project, you gave a meaningful peek into our classroom and the daily experiences of our students. Next, we are using these sensory tools as part of a structured routine, teaching students how and when to use them independently to support focus during lessons in reading, math, and social skills. Our goal is to help students build lifelong self-regulation strategies they can carry beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a real difference in our students' learning and well-being. Thank you for investing in tools that help every student feel successful, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1767205720840,"projectUrl":"project/every-student-deserves-to-focus/9691284/","projectTitle":"Every Student Deserves to Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Seltzer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3162426_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1513649074599","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3162426"},{"teacherId":3162426,"projectId":8586169,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation of the P-Touch label maker and ink, my students in our special education classroom have been able to engage with learning in new and meaningful ways. The technology has helped us create clear, durable labels for classroom materials, schedules, and personal items, which supports organization and independence for students who benefit from visual structure. Many of my students rely on visual cues to navigate their day, and the labeled items make transitions smoother, reduce confusion, and help them build confidence in managing tasks on their own. Something as simple as a clearly printed label makes the classroom more accessible and supports skills that they will use far beyond school.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been seeing their own names and classroom materials come to life through the label maker. Several of my students with communication challenges have lit up when they were able to help design or place labels on their own belongings—it gives them a real sense of ownership and pride. One student in particular, who often struggles with staying organized, has been enthusiastically labeling his folders and bins and is now taking more initiative to put things back in the right place. This technology has made learning both fun and functional, and we are so grateful for the positive difference it's making each day.","fullyFundedDate":1733236497635,"projectUrl":"project/organized-learning-labels-and-visuals-f/8586169/","projectTitle":"Organized Learning: Labels and Visuals for Autistic Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Seltzer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3162426_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1513649074599","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3162426"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_95404","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":38,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":57.9,"schoolId":95404,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P10X @ PS 304X on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P10X @ PS 304X ","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/p10x-public-school-304x/95404"}
