They've been using the traditional Clue sets during Lunch and Study Hall, and the excitement has spread quickly. My Study Hall students heard that my Lunch Bunch group was playing and immediately asked if they could join in—as long as they finished their homework and independent reading first! I love this, because the more students who play, the more learning and teamwork I see happening. And as an added bonus, students are suddenly very motivated to finish their work on time so they can play.\r\n\r\nWe're saving the one-time Clue games as a special end-of-year surprise since they add an extra layer of fun and mystery.\r\n\r\nWhen the Amazon package arrived, I set it on our lunch table and waited to see what would happen. As soon as the students walked in, they started examining the boxes and asked if they could open them. When I said, \"Yes, of course—they're for you,\" their faces instantly lit up with the biggest smiles. They were shocked and thrilled that the materials were truly for them. After opening everything, they couldn't wait to start playing—though I did make sure they ate their lunch first!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for giving my students a place where they can eat, relax, laugh, and have fun together. Being outside the drama and noise of the lunchroom means the world to them. They love having a quiet, welcoming space where they can enjoy each other's company and play a game that brings them together.\r\n\r\nAs for next steps, we'll continue playing and learning! Watching middle schoolers put away their devices, engage in real conversations, and enjoy a classic game like Clue is incredibly rewarding. I am truly, deeply grateful. Playing the board games helps my students strengthen critical thinking, deduction, memory, and problem-solving skills. It also encourages communication, strategic planning, and positive social interactions through turn-taking and observation.
