The uplifting spirit this donation has created is an intangible representation of your generosity that has been felt in and beyond my classroom. From the smiles on the children's faces, to the happy dances from both students and teachers, to the expressions of excitement throughout the school building- your donation has created a ripple effect that I myself did not predict would occur. Thank you for allowing that positive energy of kindness and support to grow into something greater. \r\nWithin my classroom this carpet has created a cozy, safe, and comfortable place for my students to learn. The students love having their own special space during our carpet lessons. We have listened to and read literature together, shared important life stories, practiced our phonics skills, learned the difference between tens and ones in math and explored the vibrations of sound all on this new special space in our room. This donation has helped create a classroom where the students and their learning are at the center. Thank you for helping support this growth within my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1772550526493,"projectUrl":"project/a-cozy-carpet-for-curious-first-graders/9971485/","projectTitle":"A Cozy Carpet for Curious First Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bracconeri","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10391570_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767215453403","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10391570"},{"teacherId":10323674,"projectId":9847471,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in bringing \"Building Minds, One Tile at a Time\" to life. Because of you, our classroom is now home to 23 sets of the \r\nMagna-Tiles 32-Piece Classic Set, and the impact was immediate. When the boxes arrived, the students were absolutely thrilled! There were audible gasps and cheers as they realized they each had their own set to explore. Seeing their eyes light up at the vibrant, translucent colors was a highlight of our year, and they couldn't wait to hear the satisfying \"click\" of the magnets coming together.\r\nWe are already putting these resources to work in our daily STEM and math rotations. Just this week, we watched a group of students collaborate to build a \"futuristic city. They are moving beyond simple 2D shapes to construct complex 3D prisms and pyramids, essentially acting as mini-architects and engineers. One student even discovered how to use the tiles against the window to explore light and color-mixing, creating a \"stained-glass\" effect that mesmerized the whole class.\r\nLooking ahead, our students will use their Magna-Tiles to design and build vertical ball runs and ramps. They will be testing how the height of their structures affects the speed of a rolling marble, putting concepts like gravity and kinetic energy into practice. Your contribution provided a hands-on laboratory where our students can be creative and have fun while learning.","fullyFundedDate":1764794259972,"projectUrl":"project/building-minds-one-tile-at-a-time/9847471/","projectTitle":"Building Minds, One Tile at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Clancy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10323674"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22371","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":366,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.9,"schoolId":22371,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Link Elementary on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Link Elementary","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/clarkstown-central-school-district/link-elementary-school/22371"}
