Because of you, our classroom has been transformed with engaging dramatic play materials that have already made a meaningful impact on our students' learning experiences. The excitement was undeniable as the packages began to arrive—students eagerly gathered around, curious and thrilled to see what new opportunities awaited them.\r\n\r\nThese materials have brought our dramatic play center to life and are helping us enrich our monthly themes in ways that spark creativity, collaboration, and imagination. Watching students step into new roles, create stories, and build social skills through play has been truly rewarding. Your kindness has given them tools to explore, express themselves, and learn in ways that are both joyful and meaningful.\r\n\r\nAs we continue to grow, our next step is to strengthen our STEM learning initiative, building on the momentum you've helped create. Your support has laid a strong foundation, and we are deeply grateful for the difference you've made in our classroom. Our students spend time reading the sets of books that were purchased for us on the rug and on the beanbags. They enjoy that the beanbags and the flex space chairs are a comfortable option when reading quietly independently. The kids also love that they have different options to sit when reading and/or working on projects, activities, and IPADS. \r\n\r\nWe were surprised and excited when we received the materials. It felt like Christmas morning. The rug was a lot bigger than we expected, but we loved it! Now, the kids have a more comfortable and open space to read and work. \r\n\r\nWe use this \"corner\" or space in our room to promote independent reading, working on reading fluency and comprehension, and to give the kids choices! \r\n\r\n:)","fullyFundedDate":1768622025451,"projectUrl":"project/a-cozy-reading-corner-to-grow-confident/10021719/","projectTitle":"A Cozy Reading Corner to Grow Confident Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kleine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3993495_orig.png?crop=460,460,x0,y41&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767732166955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misskleine"},{"teacherId":10003853,"projectId":9741815,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of Legos to my writing classroom! Our Lego narrative writing unit has always been a class favorite, but in the past, limited materials made it challenging for every student to fully participate. Having the extra supplies will not only make it easier for this year's group of students, but it will help many students for years to come! \r\n\tI have attached some of the students' work so you can see the creativity your donation has inspired. Students are instructed to build a Lego set and take a picture of it as inspiration for an original story. Some students already have an idea for a story before they begin their construction while others really use the Legos as a brainstorming tool to develop a story in their mind along the way. They choose a Lego mini-figure to incorporate into their scene and begin imagining challenges the character might face and how the character might go about solving his or her own problem. The Legos become much more than toys—they are powerful learning tools that help students visualize their ideas, organize their thinking, and bring their stories to life.\r\n\tThroughout this project, I see my students push themselves and show tremendous growth! Students that could barely write a paragraph in the fall are now eagerly filling pages and pages with their own creative stories! They're excited to apply those foundational skills that we have worked so hard on throughout the year because they are personally connected to their finished product. \r\n Thank you again for investing in my students and their education. Your generosity provides them with the tools, inspiration, and opportunities they need to engage in meaningful, joyful learning. Support from caring individuals like you truly makes our classroom a better place, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1767194925726,"projectUrl":"project/legos-and-writing/9741815/","projectTitle":"Legos and Writing","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10003853_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745348550540","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10003853"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21413","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":471,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":21413,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bolivar Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bolivar Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/chittenango-central-school-district/bolivar-road-elementary-school/21413"}
