Before your gift, providing every student with their own copy of such a complex text was nearly impossible. For almost all of my students, this project marks their very first encounter with Shakespeare. Introducing them to classical theater with brand-new, physical books has removed a huge barrier, empowering them to discover one of history's greatest plays with confidence rather than fear.\r\n\r\nHaving these books has completely transformed what reading looks like in our room. Reading here is an active, living experience: students hold the text in their hands, annotate key passages, and assign roles to perform scenes aloud together. Through Macbeth, they are mastering crucial high-level reading skills—dissecting themes of ambition, guilt, and fate, analyzing complex character motivations, and translating early modern English into meaningful modern dialogue. My memories of reading Macbeth in 10th grade still remain fresh in mind many years later; I am thrilled to have the opportunity to now see them conquer this incredible and powerful play.\r\n\r\nYour support did far more than purchase books; it granted my students entry into a literary tradition they might otherwise have felt excluded from, showing them that challenging, timeless literature belongs to them, too. My students were super excited to see the demonstrations and visualize some more really exciting chemical reactions! They were also excited to use some cooler safety glasses and the new lab equipment! \r\nThe polyurethane foam demonstration blew their minds. When I showed them that it was \"rock solid\" they couldn't believe it. When there was a puff of purple smoke and flame in the oxidation of glycerin, they were equally amazed that so much energy could come from such a small amount of stuff.
