The students and I are so appreciative of your generosity and care. \r\n\r\nWe use these materials daily. Now that we have the headphones, students can quietly learn and utilize their iPads to better their learning experiences. For example, I teach in school where a lot of the student population are English Language Learners and their ability to read grade level content is difficult. However, with the new headphones, students can have their iPads read to them which allows them to be engaged with classroom content. Students have also been happy to have the cushions for more flexible seating. For example, now when we have movie time, students have used them to make little beds to watch the movie on the carpet which makes them very happy to be more comfortable. There are many other ways we have used the items donated to our classroom such as toys for recess, weekly snacks and materials (glue, pencils) to get through our day. \r\n\r\nWhen I first told the students we got our project fully funded, they were so surprised and filled with gratitude that somebody would donate so much money to better their education at school. They asked me every day when the items were coming. I stayed after school one day to organize the materials to surprise them the next morning, and they immediately noticed the headphones in the headphone station, plus the cushions in their designated spot. They proceeded to walk around the classroom looking for the other items we discussed. The smiles on their faces were priceless. \r\n\r\n\r\nI thank you again on behalf of room 122, with your generosity students have been able to come to school knowing their basic needs and wants are met.","fullyFundedDate":1769292379149,"projectUrl":"project/winter-wants/10050923/","projectTitle":"Winter Wants","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9677031"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21237","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":400,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":46,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.9,"schoolId":21237,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 48 at 39 Martin Luther King Jr Multicultural Institute on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 48 at 39 Martin Luther King Jr Multicultural Institute","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/buffalo-public-schools/ps-39-mlk-multicultural-inst/21237"}
