My students were so excited to receive your generous gift! \r\nOur school provides the kids with fruit and vegetables as a daily snack. While they enjoy the fruits and vegetables, they were so happy to have your donation of cookies, crackers, and fruit snacks. A few students with food insecurity at home were also especially grateful to take some of the snacks home for the weekends. \r\nThe warm winter gear you sent helped get our kids outside for recess sledding. Students were excited to walk to the park and sled down the hill many times these past few months. Finding books at the right reading level that also interest students can be difficult within a budget. This donation allowed us to add several new high-interest titles to our book library. \r\nI chose books within the \"Meet Yasmin\" series, because it especially interests our 1st-2nd graders. Since they are still learning decoding skills, finding high interest titles for them is especially difficult. My \"lower level\" 3rd-5th graders can still enjoy these books as well, because they are not too \"babyish\". \r\nThis reading level also needs many more options in the book room for daily reading, as opposed to a longer chapter book that can interest a more advanced reader for the entire week.
