This not only keeps their spirits high but also allows us to sustain the energy required for complex pieces and choreography.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials—specifically the variety of healthy and fun snack options—their eyes lit up with genuine excitement. The craft box was an instant favorite—within minutes they were sorting through the felt, frames, and colorful supplies, already imagining what they could create. We used the materials right away for a holiday felt‑framed art project, and it was such a joy to watch students collaborate, share ideas, and take pride in their finished pieces. These hands‑on moments are the ones they remember most, and your generosity made them possible.\r\n\r\nThe tissues, cleaning supplies, and sanitation materials have also made a tremendous difference in our daily routines. Students are practicing Spanish vocabulary and grammar through interactive board games, which has helped them build confidence while speaking and collaborating with classmates. The craft supplies have allowed students to create visual projects, such as vocabulary posters and mini cultural crafts, that reinforce what they are learning in a creative way. The cleaning supplies have helped us keep our shared space organized and welcoming, and the candies have been a fun and motivating way to celebrate effort, participation, and progress.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure excitement. My students and I have already put everything to great use, and your support has made an immediate difference in our daily routines and in our creative projects.\r\nWe are using the new materials in a variety of ways. Recently, students created alebrijes and illustrated vibrant sugar skull pictures as part of our cultural art unit. Watching them explore colors, patterns, and symbolism with the donated supplies was truly inspiring. One specific moment that stands out was when a student who is usually very quiet lit up with excitement while showing the class her finished alebrije. She proudly explained the meaning behind its colors and shapes, and her classmates applauded her creativity. It was a beautiful moment of confidence and community.\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless eyes wide, smiles big, and lots of \"Can we start today?\" They were especially excited about having a warm, comfortable space to work in thanks to the heater. It has quickly become a favorite part of our classroom routine, especially on cold mornings. The snacks have also been a huge help. Many students rely on them to stay focused and energized throughout the day. We are already running low, which shows just how appreciated and needed they are.\r\nAs for what's next, our class is continuing to build on our cultural art lessons by creating a small gallery walk where students can display their alebrijes and artwork for families and staff. We're also beginning a new writing project in which students will describe the inspiration behind their pieces. Your donations have given them the tool and the motivation to bring these projects to life.\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom, our comfort, and our creativity. We are learning about life cycles by moving realistic pieces into a cycling motion for example to show that a frog starts as an egg and develops into an adult frog after going through the tadpole stage. For some students that do not have the personal experiences this is the next best thing and helps to create a concrete idea in their mind so as to emphasize the concept without having to experience it in real life. We now have more opportunities to learn from our peers as we do more small group centers where students can talk to other students about animal habitats and how they adjust to their surroundings over time. Part of helping children grow a love for reading in library is showing them all that can be explored through books and literature as well as how hands on that learning can be when we use ideas from books to then create a life like situation with manipulatives to reinforce what we've learned.","fullyFundedDate":1753113951521,"projectUrl":"project/explore-nature-through-stem-learning-and/9189546/","projectTitle":"Explore Nature Through STEM Learning and Discoveries","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Guilford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6959481"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_20908","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":314,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":60.4,"schoolId":20908,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Belfast Central School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Belfast Central School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/belfast-central-school-district/belfast-central-school/20908"}
