Our students have been so excited to have new Spanish books available in our classroom. As a dual-language classroom, having a variety of Spanish books is especially important because it gives our students more opportunities to read, practice their Spanish literacy skills, and find books that they are interested in.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is a time for students to slow down, choose a book, and enjoy reading independently. The new books have helped us build our Spanish classroom library and give students more choices when they are looking for something to read. These books also give us opportunities to work on important reading skills such as building vocabulary, understanding characters and events, making connections, and talking about what we read. Most importantly, we want our students to see themselves as readers in both languages and feel confident choosing a book and reading it on their own.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful to everyone who helped make this project possible. Your support has helped us create a classroom where our students can continue to grow as bilingual readers and enjoy the experience of reading in Spanish.
