My group designed and constructed a system intended to support plant growth without soil. We began with a plastic tub filled with nutrient-rich water, which serves as the base for most hydroponic systems. A hole was cut into the lid to hold a recycled strawberry container filled with vermiculite and rock wool cubes, which support the seedlings as media.
