Your generous support has made a lasting impact on our program and our students' learning experiences.\r\n\r\nBecause of your contribution, we were able to purchase essential CPR and phlebotomy training supplies that allow students to gain real-world practice in critical medical skills. These materials include CPR manikins, tourniquets, venipuncture arms, needles, and collection tubes, tools that are vital for teaching CPR/First Aid and phlebotomy procedures in a realistic and meaningful way. These resources help students develop clinical competence and prepare for future careers in healthcare, as well as for HOSA competitions.\r\n\r\nSince our instruction is delivered virtually, access to physical equipment is especially important. Your support ensures that our students can practice CPR, first aid, and phlebotomy techniques with the same quality of training as their in-person peers. These materials have truly improved our classroom by giving students the opportunity to practice hands-on medical skills when we meet in person.\r\n\r\nWe had the opportunity to meet in Santa Fe at the end of January, where students began using these materials to build their skills. We look forward to continuing this learning when we meet in Albuquerque for HOSA's State Leadership Conference. There, our members will not only practice their skills but also teach others the medical techniques they have learned through our school and HOSA chapter.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity, belief in our students, and commitment to supporting healthcare education. Your investment is helping shape confident, skilled, and motivated future healthcare professionals.","fullyFundedDate":1763316528606,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-medical-skills-training/9775353/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Medical Skills & Training","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Castillo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6893264_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759184358018","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6893264"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127959","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1393,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":5,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"4 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":127959,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Mexico Connections Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Mexico Connections Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/new-mexico-department-of-education/new-mexico-connections-academy/127959"}
