Because of you, my students now have access to resources that truly make a difference in their daily learning and well-being. We are actively using the fidget tools, flexible seating options, and comfort items to help students regulate their emotions, stay focused, and feel safe in our classroom environment. One moment that really stood out was during a recent lesson when a student who typically struggles to stay engaged was able to remain focused the entire period while using a fidget tool—he proudly completed his work and even volunteered to share his thinking, which was a huge win for him.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless. There was so much excitement, gratitude, and curiosity. Many students immediately expressed how the classroom felt \"calmer,\" \"more comfortable,\" and even \"like a safe space.\" The treasure box prizes have also become a meaningful motivator, encouraging positive behavior, effort, and kindness among peers. It has created a more positive classroom culture overall.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to support our current lessons, especially as we focus on building independence, perseverance, and self-regulation skills. Students are learning how to identify what helps them focus best and are taking more ownership of their learning. We are also incorporating more collaborative and reflective activities, where students can use these tools to stay engaged and manage stress while tackling challenging content.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact not only on student learning, but on their confidence and emotional well-being. Thank you for helping create a classroom where all students feel supported, valued, and ready to succeed.\r\n\r\nAs always, \r\nGive a smile, Get a smile. \r\n(:Smile4Smile:)","fullyFundedDate":1766331965660,"projectUrl":"project/a-smile-for-a-smile-high-school-scienc/9889096/","projectTitle":"A Smile For A Smile, High School Science Edition!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Delaney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10347887_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y128&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762827007675","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10347887"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32414","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":916,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":69,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":33.3,"schoolId":32414,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Valencia High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Valencia High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/los-lunas-school-district-1/valencia-high-school-freshman-academy/32414"}
