Because of your donations, my students now have access to playground balls, team jerseys, basketballs, footballs, volleyballs, jump ropes, and soccer balls. These resources have completely changed the way my students spend their recess time. Instead of wondering what to do or not having enough equipment to share, they are able to organize games, create teams, stay active, and play together. The jerseys have been especially fun because students can divide into teams and feel like they are participating in a real game!\r\n\r\nThe excitement when my students first saw all of the new equipment was amazing. They could not wait to get outside and use everything! It has been wonderful to watch students who enjoy different activities find something that interests them, whether that is shooting baskets, playing soccer or football, jumping rope, or creating their own games. More importantly, these materials are helping my students practice teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, problem-solving, and healthy physical activity while building stronger friendships with their classmates.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources to encourage active play and positive interactions during recess. I also look forward to helping students learn new games, develop their athletic skills, and practice being good teammates and leaders. Your generosity has provided much more than playground equipment—you have given my students new opportunities to be active, have fun, build confidence, and make wonderful memories together. Science Spin has also helped students strengthen their understanding of science concepts while encouraging them to ask questions, make predictions, and think like scientists.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and collaborative. Students read independently, with partners, in small groups, and as a whole class. We discuss the articles, annotate important information, answer comprehension questions, and make connections to our ELA, science, and social studies lessons. The colorful photographs, interesting topics, and accessible text features have been especially helpful for students who sometimes feel overwhelmed by longer reading assignments.\r\n\r\nSeveral of my reluctant readers now look forward to receiving each new issue.
