This is my 12th year teaching and I can say without a doubt that our new 3d printers have changed the way my students have approached learning. \r\nThis year we launched a student led business. In the first 8 weeks of class my students have been running business teams with managers helping to make decisions. They have created a site explaining what we are trying to accomplish, they have made 3d prints, they have learned how to design their own 3d designs, created products to support our school fundraiser (go pink or go home), and continued expanding their own opportunities to learn how to run a small business. \r\nMy students have become so invested and engaged with learning about becoming entrepreneurs. They learned how to use technology and edit their podcasts last year and they turned out great. My students really liked using the microphones because they had clear voices and did not have to edit as much background noise from their projects. This really helped them understand the power of using the right equipment for their work to get the best sound. \r\nThis year we have also used the microphones for similar project based learning. Students using this equipment seem to feel more confident in the products they produce and feel proud of their work when they are finished. It also helped them to work together when things were not connecting and problem solve. \r\nWe are so grateful for the support for our project this year.
