At first when I explained to my kinder class about the donation, there was not much interest but as soon as we received the boxes and I started to pull out items, their eyes light up. My student were excited and eager use them. I explained how we will use there items to play and learn. I had a few boxes arrive throughout the week and each time it was exciting to see their reaction.\r\n\r\nOne of the items I received first was the calming strips, feeling chart, sensory outer space bin, social emotional books and poster. The student were excited to use that when they needed to take a break or needed to calm down. I did give all students a sensory strip so that all students can have an opportunity to use them. Other items received were used for manipulative for Language arts centers and help in their fine motors skills. Before using it, I went over rules and expectations in using items. Other item students were excited and enjoyed were the stickers. They really liked the gold stickers. They would say, \"Can I get a gold star sticker?\" after completing a worksheet.\r\n\r\nCurrently the weather in Albuquerque, NM is getting colder and there are times we need to stay inside for recess, students enjoy using all the manipulatives donated to build. Currently our class is working on building number sense on numbers six to ten, retelling stories and talking about holiday tradition in our family.\r\n\r\nOnce again thank you for your generosity donations that has made a significant difference in our learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1756170355529,"projectUrl":"project/kinder-mindful-awareness/9518104/","projectTitle":"Kinder Mindful Awareness","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cruz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9742140_orig.jpg?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764195814456","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9742140"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82443","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":181,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":11,"percentLatinx":81,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.7,"schoolId":82443,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Longfellow Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Longfellow Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/albuquerque-public-schools/longfellow-elementary-school/82443"}
