The excitement on their faces when presenting the caterpillars for the first time was such a sight to see. Immediately, we began to use magnifying glasses to get an up close look at all the caterpillars. Every few days as the caterpillars were transforming, we used the magnifying glasses to observe them. After observing them, students drew a picture of what they observed creating their very own observation booklet. \r\nThe various books donated allowed for our Read Aloud time to continue growing our knowledge of caterpillars to butterflies especially with the help of the puppets and caterpillar to butterfly plush toy. The butterfly counters helped enriched our math-related activities as we continuously counted and sorted the butterflies throughout the day. \r\nWhen it was time to release the butterflies, all students were able to help and hold a butterfly before it flew away into the world.
