Each day, the students couldn't wait to unbox our new classroom gifts. The markers, crayons, stencils, and paper have been so helpful this year. As a new teacher with a limited budget, my students were very bored with activities we had for free time and recess. This winter we did not have indoor recess for many weeks, so the art cart came in handy.\r\n The art cart also provided opportunities for my students to express their creativity. In addition, the new art tools were used to create a variety of projects like get well and thank you cards, as well as a spring bunny craft. In addition, the coloring activities and Playdoh are helpful options to calm students throughout the school day. The art cart has helped create a sense of community in the classroom, as we have discussed sharing and taking care of our new supplies. As we move on to warmer months and start winding down to the end of the school year, I'm sure there will be many more opportunities to utilize all the art cart materials.
