Through this project, students gained a deeper understanding of the culture, customs, and traditions associated with this important celebration.\r\nChinese New Year typically lasts for 15 days. As part of our celebration, we provided each student with samples of traditional foods such as dumplings and spring rolls. I explained the significance of eating dumplings during the New Year, as their shape resembles ancient Chinese currency (yuanbao), symbolizing wealth and good fortune for the coming year.\r\nWe also organized hands-on Center activities where students practiced Chinese calligraphy using brush pens and wrote festive phrases for the Year of the Horse. Students learned about the Chinese zodiac animals and how they are arranged in order. In addition, we invited a Lion Dance group to perform and explain the meaning behind this traditional custom.\r\nFinally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who made this project possible. Your support has had a meaningful and lasting impact on my students.
