We use the rug every day as a comfortable gathering space for morning meetings, lessons, read-alouds, and community discussions. Each student has their own colorful smiley face to sit on, which has helped create a sense of order and personal space while still bringing us together as a class.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug, their faces lit up with excitement—they absolutely loved the bright colors and smiley faces and couldn't wait to find \"their\" spot. The carpet has helped our classroom feel calmer, more organized, and more welcoming. Students, staff members, and even parents have commented on how happy and inviting it makes the room feel. Most importantly, it has given my students a cozy, positive place to learn together and build a strong classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1764007042195,"projectUrl":"project/the-classroom-rug-is-the-heart-of-our-cl/9596072/","projectTitle":"The Classroom Rug Is The Heart Of Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leeds","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10177316"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82336","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":323,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.9,"schoolId":82336,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Washington Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Washington Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/summit-public-schools/washington-elementary-school/82336"}
