The math manipulatives, sensory tools, and reading materials have arrived and our classroom is now fully stocked with the resources my students need to succeed. I've spent time organizing everything and planning how to introduce each tool to my students. The base ten blocks are ready for our place value work, the sensory discs and breathing boards are set up in our calm corner, and the leveled readers are displayed where students can easily access them.\r\n\r\nMy students were absolutely thrilled when the materials arrived! They were so excited to see the new tools and couldn't wait to start using them. Several students were immediately drawn to the colorful manipulatives and asked when they'd get to work with them. I explained that these materials are here for whenever they need them, whether it's to understand a math concept, take a sensory break to refocus, or find the perfect book for independent reading. Knowing these supports are available has already boosted their confidence and created a sense of excitement about learning.\r\n\r\nStudents will be using the base ten blocks to visualize hundreds, tens, and ones as we work on addition and subtraction strategies. The sensory tools will be available throughout the day for students who need movement or calming strategies to stay focused during instruction. The graphic novels and decodable readers will support our reading block where students are working on fluency and comprehension. \r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and giving them exactly what they need to thrive!","fullyFundedDate":1758727850621,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-for-every-ability/9700211/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning for Every Ability","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5583090_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533142744912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/l-baez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_81204","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":547,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":7,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.6,"schoolId":81204,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tuscan Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tuscan Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/south-orange-maplewood-school-district/tuscan-elementary-school/81204"}
