My students have already begun using these materials to plan, design, revise, and create projects connected to literacy, STEM, and school culture. The vinyl, heat-transfer materials, cutting mats, sewing tools, and organizing supplies are helping students move from having an idea to actually building something with care, purpose, and pride.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were excited because the supplies made the work feel real. They immediately started asking what they could make, who would get to use it, and how they could be part of the process. One of the most meaningful parts has been watching students take on roles such as designer, materials manager, and quality checker. These roles give them a chance to practice collaboration, precision, responsibility, and problem-solving while also seeing themselves as capable creators.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these resources during ELA workshops, interdisciplinary projects, and enrichment activities. Students will design classroom visuals, project pieces, and student-created materials that support reading, writing, presentation, and school community. Because of your generosity, my students have access to tools that help them slow down, think carefully, work together, and turn their learning into something they can see, touch, and share.","fullyFundedDate":1776454275322,"projectUrl":"project/student-design-studio-expanding-creativ/10040112/","projectTitle":"Student Design Studio: Expanding Creativity, Leadership and School Pride","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rhein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4004691_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756961428583","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsrhein"},{"teacherId":4004691,"projectId":10027258,"letterContent":"When the Winter Warmth and Care Kits arrived, my students immediately understood that this was about more than supplies. It was about care. Several students opened their tote bags and tried on their hats and gloves right away. One student said, \"Now I don't have to use my hoodie sleeves.\" Another asked if the book light meant they could \"read under the covers like in the movies.\" The rechargeable book lights quickly became the favorite item because they signaled possibility. Reading did not have to stop when the sun went down.\r\n\r\nWe are using the materials in intentional ways. Students keep their kits organized in the reusable totes and bring their book lights between school and home. During independent reading time, I have seen increased stamina and focus because students feel physically comfortable and supported. Families have shared that the cocoa and tea created small evening routines centered around reading. One student told me she and her grandmother now read together after dinner using the new light. That is the literacy culture we are building. It is not just assignments. It is shared time, consistency, and connection.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our class include strengthening family reading routines throughout the winter months. Students are tracking their at home reading minutes, reflecting on how reading makes them feel, and setting small literacy goals connected to comfort and consistency. This project removed barriers that often go unseen and replaced them with warmth, dignity, and access. Because of your generosity, my students are not just prepared for winter. They are equipped to keep learning, reading, and growing through it.","fullyFundedDate":1768696850407,"projectUrl":"project/warmth-and-words-winter-care-kits-for-f/10027258/","projectTitle":"Warmth and Words: Winter Care Kits for Families","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rhein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4004691_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756961428583","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsrhein"},{"teacherId":4004691,"projectId":9693335,"letterContent":"When the custodian rolled the boxes into our classroom, I expected to assemble everything after school. My students had other plans. Class stopped instantly. In the middle of a lesson, they turned to each other with this spark in their eyes, and one said, \"Can we build it? We can do it.\"\r\n\r\nWhat happened next felt like a teacher's dream. These middle schoolers, who do not always agree on anything, formed their own teams, assigned roles, read directions together, and talked each other through every step. They problem-solved mismatched screws, figured out how to stabilize the legs, and held pieces steady for classmates they do not always work with. I watched them become a community right in front of me.\r\n\r\nWhen the first chair clicked into place, they actually cheered. They did not wait for permission to sit. They sank right into it like it belonged to them. In that moment, it did. One student whispered, \"This feels like a real library.\" Another asked, \"Can we read now? Like here?\"\r\n\r\nThe rug, the lights, the chairs. They changed the room, yes. More importantly, they changed how my students saw themselves in the space. Suddenly our reading corner was not just furniture. It was something they built. Something they took ownership of. Something they are proud of.\r\n\r\nSince that day, more students volunteer to read aloud. More students stay after class to finish a page. More students ask, \"Can I go to the cozy corner today?\" The environment you helped create did not just make reading comfortable. It made it communal, joyful, and theirs.\r\n\r\nYou did not just fund furniture.\r\nYou helped my students build a space and a confidence they did not know they could have.","fullyFundedDate":1759265983224,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-corners-bright-minds-creating-a-s/9693335/","projectTitle":"Cozy Corners, Bright Minds: Creating a Student-Centered Reading Lounge","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rhein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4004691_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756961428583","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsrhein"},{"teacherId":7761402,"projectId":9707474,"letterContent":"Our new Study Café has become a favorite spot during our school's open FLEX period, giving students a calm, flexible space to work, read, or catch up on assignments.
