The students and I were so excited that we could dive into some exciting art projects using the paint and supplies!\r\n\r\nIt has been a pleasure teaching the students about art, history, and culture. We painted some gorgeous artworks inspired by artists through the ages. The students enjoyed making artworks inspired by African American artist, Alma Thomas. The students also used the tempera paint on canvas board to recreate their own version of Vincent van Gogh's \"Starry Night.\" The students were so happy to bring home finished artworks that they could display in their home, in addition to displaying some artworks in the school community. Administration was also impressed seeing the students listening to classical music while thoroughly encompassed in painting happily.\r\n\r\nThere is some more paint and paper for this coming school year, so thank you. Students will learn more about the art elements and principles of art, while expanding their knowledge of art, history, and culture. My students were so excited to learn that we received support from various people and organizations from around the country. \r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled to see the new art supplies. The watercolor pencils are phenomenal and the pencil sharpener is a life saver. The watercolor paper has come in very handy for more serious projects using watercolor and paint. Students used the supplies to create some beautiful artworks, including some in the style of Faith Ringgold. \r\n\r\nSome thank you cards made by the students were mailed to you. Also attached are some photos of some of the projects created by students. Thank you for allowing students to express themselves, learn more about history, culture and art via the visual arts.
