As this year ends, I know that my students were able to choose books to read that excited them. These books were filled with new vocabulary words, exciting settings and plots that made them think and often laugh. Your kindness also helped build their self esteem with each book they completed! The rolling chairs have been very helpful in that the kids are now in a comfortable place and willing and ready to work. I think being comfortable and having an age appropriate chair has helped the students to truly focus more. The rolling carts supplied have provided a wonderful way for us to both organize our paperwork and organize our manipulatives in the classroom.\r\n The students were so excited when they first came in to see all the boxes. They couldn't believe that these had come just for them and were excited for them to be put together. Some students even offered to come during their lunch to put them together. It is very rare that we get brand new items like this and I was thrilled fo be the one to help to provide this for them. \r\n The next steps are to building our manipulative stations so that the students have more items readily available to them during class time. Looking towards the future I also have a table that will fit with the chair so that the students are able fo better see me during learning. We are asking for a half circle table so the students can truly focus on the topic being taught. Again, I thank you so much for your help and support to our school. We all truly appreciate your help.","fullyFundedDate":1729637173635,"projectUrl":"project/you-get-a-chairyou-get-a-chair/8741501/","projectTitle":"You Get a Chair...You Get a Chair...","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Owsik","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5157199_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1517670183744","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5157199"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82053","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":505,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":69,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.4,"schoolId":82053,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr Martin Luther King Junior Educational Complex on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dr Martin Luther King Junior Educational Complex","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/paterson-public-schools/martin-luther-king-junior-elementary-school/82053"}
