My students were able to get their projects done, to learn in a better way and to have fun in the class. The post it notes, stickers, erasers and printer paper have allowed us to embrace creativity when it comes to learning our lessons and being surrounded in an educated environment. We use the post it notes for annotations, for ideas for the students to reflect on and circle back to and for reminders. We use the printer paper for handouts for them, extra credit to help boost their grades if they struggle with the subject and for them to creatively draw and color pictures to make the classroom a more friendly and comfortable place. The printer paper also allows us to have fun activities rather than just book work for homework. Now, they are able to use the paper to draw what characters look like, scenes from the story or their own version of what we are reading. Creativity in a school setting is so important and I am so glad you helped support that idea and way of thinking. the erasers were for mistakes students make and are able to take with them to their next classes. They are able to be confident in the materials they have, knowing they can make a mistake and change ir or fix it. Sometimes, it's hard for students or even myself as a teacher to get materials for them, prices are high and sometimes it is a struggle to have materials for 60+ students but you, donors, have made it possible. Have helped me out- even a little- and that alone means the world to me and to them. They will remember this years from now, about strangers who cared enough to help them, cared about their education to supply them with materials. The smiles on their faces showed that they felt cared for, supported and loved. And I, as their teacher, thank you for that. Seeing them grow academically and seeing them participate and smile over the new material we managed to get ahold of brightened my day, their day and hopefully your day as well. thank you so much for choosing to help us and choosing to make a difference. Your kindness and generosity is appreciated in a world so dark some days. :)","fullyFundedDate":1770647631935,"projectUrl":"project/middle-schoolers-need-the-basics/9908111/","projectTitle":"Middle Schoolers Need the Basics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rosario","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10356063"},{"teacherId":2579445,"projectId":9709911,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom magazine project through DonorsChoose. These magazines have made a powerful difference in how my students experience reading. While many people simply enjoy reading for pleasure, in the classroom we use texts to build important skills. With these new magazines, students are learning how to identify the main idea and supporting details, analyze nonfiction text features like headings and captions, expand academic vocabulary, and use evidence from the text to support their answers. The real-world topics also help us teach critical thinking skills as students compare perspectives and make connections to their own lives.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and engaging. Students read independently, with partners, and in small groups. You would see them highlighting key information, discussing interesting facts, and asking thoughtful questions about what they've learned. The high-interest articles have made even reluctant readers more willing to participate, especially during discussion time. Instead of simply completing an assignment, students are genuinely curious and excited to share what they discover.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle to stay focused during reading time have been especially drawn to the colorful visuals and relevant topics in the magazines. One student who rarely chose to read independently now eagerly selects articles about science and technology. Another loves sharing surprising facts with the class during discussions. Your generosity has helped create a classroom where reading feels meaningful, collaborative, and exciting. Thank you for investing in our students and their growth as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1767261683198,"projectUrl":"project/off-screens-into-stories/9709911/","projectTitle":"“Off Screens & Into Stories”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Propersi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2579445_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1488656464734","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2579445"},{"teacherId":2579445,"projectId":10022128,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generosity of our DonorsChoose supporters through DonorsChoose, our classroom is now stocked with healthy snacks and drinks that ensure no child has to try to learn on an empty stomach. We have created a small \"Snack Station\" that students can access discreetly throughout the day. During a recent reading workshop, I noticed a student who typically struggles to focus fully engage in our group discussion after having a quick snack. Instead of being distracted by hunger, the student was able to participate, share ideas, and complete their work with confidence. These resources are helping us build a classroom environment where students feel cared for, comfortable, and ready to learn.\r\nWhen students first saw the new snacks and drinks, their reactions were filled with excitement and relief. Several students expressed gratitude, and one shared that they hadn't eaten since lunch the day before. Knowing they have consistent access to food has reduced anxiety and increased focus across the classroom. The simple act of being able to grab a granola bar or juice has made a noticeable difference in both energy levels and classroom morale.\r\nBecause basic needs are being met, we are able to move forward with our current literacy and math enrichment projects with fewer interruptions and greater engagement. Our next steps include beginning a collaborative research project where students will work in small groups to explore real-world problem solving connected to our curriculum. With your support through DonorsChoose, our students are not just receiving snacks, they are gaining stability, dignity, and the ability to fully participate in their education.","fullyFundedDate":1768614118057,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-hard-work-with-joy/10022128/","projectTitle":"Fueling Hard Work with Joy!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Propersi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2579445_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1488656464734","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2579445"},{"teacherId":10373237,"projectId":10055676,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness and support of our classroom. Because of your generosity, our students now have access to snacks and project supplies that truly make a difference in their daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, the school day doesn't end when the final bell rings. During after-school programs and extended learning time, having access to snacks helps them stay focused, energized, and ready to participate. A simple snack can mean improved concentration, better behavior, and a student who feels cared for and supported.\r\n\r\nYour donation of project supplies has also transformed our classroom. With these materials, students are able to engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with their peers, and creatively demonstrate their understanding. Instead of just reading or writing about concepts, they can build, design, create, and explore. This kind of active learning increases confidence, deepens comprehension, and makes school an exciting place to be.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity sends a powerful message to our students: that their education matters and that there are people in the community who believe in them. That encouragement goes far beyond snacks and supplies—it builds motivation, gratitude, and hope.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our entire classroom, thank you for investing in our students' success. One of the most memorable moments was when the students first explored the Talking Interactive Globe and Microscope. Our students eagerly dive into these materials, gaining not only STEM knowledge but also critical thinking and communication skills. As we continue, the next steps involve guiding students through collaborative projects that combine measurement skills from our Measurement Kit with scientific experimentation, such as crystal growing and volcano projects from our STEM kits. These projects will deepen their understanding of scientific concepts while supporting language development.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your investment in our classroom learning environment.
