We have averted several emotional outbursts and have even increased our emotional vocabulary! We are having students who cannot speak sit right down on the carpet with a face depicting what they are feeling at that moment. Some of our students just like to sit on the bean bags and relax. Our most popular item is the Rubic's Cube, and it gives them good practice for their fine motor skills as well!!\r\n\r\nOur teachers are big fans too! When a student is able to readjust themselves, they have been able to return to class and been able to rejoin the lesson successfully.\r\n\r\nHaving a safe place to go when they need to recalibrate as made a huge difference! Now we have other classes and offices that want to do the same thing.
