Thanks to you, my students and I were able to engage deeply with the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, an experience that has enriched their learning in many meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThroughout our novel study, students focused on a variety of important skills. They practiced close reading and critical thinking as they reflected on major moments in the story. We incorporated many opportunities for \"turn and talk\" discussions, allowing students to share their thoughts and listen to their peers. These conversations helped them develop their communication skills and deepen their understanding of the text.\r\n\r\nOur class also engaged in thoughtful reflections and deep conversations about the novel's major themes, such as kindness, acceptance, and empathy. Many students connected personally with Auggie's story, especially those who have family members or friends with disabilities or who have experienced being treated differently. These connections sparked powerful discussions about inclusion and respect, helping students to see the world through others' perspectives.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact on my students' learning and growth.
