There were actual squeals of delight when the new materials were unveiled and they have created such enthusiasm in the classroom. We can now have larger groups of children working together to build a Magna-tile structure and students are coming up with incredibly creative ways to use the wooden blocks both independently and collaboratively. I have also seen a renewed sense of creativity with our classroom Legos after the introduction of the base plates. This simple addition has really changed the way they build and the imagination they use when playing together.\r\n\r\n Being able to provide my students with opportunities to play together where they can use their imaginations and practice social skills is so rewarding and provides them with a much needed outlet during the day. Each day I am surprised by beautiful works of art made using our new markers, colored pencils and drawing paper and these materials also help bring a sense of calm and peace to our classroom.
