We have been able to enjoy the summer weather outdoors safely. The wagon offers a safe travel experience with appropriate seating for my students with special needs. \r\n We are getting excited for the fall season next. The students will enjoy seeing all the fall colors outside while soaking in the beautiful fall weather. My students have physical disabilities that make playing more difficult. With your donation I was able to obtain switch activated toys for the students to engage with.\r\n Switches offer my students the ability to turn on and off a device using a large \"button\" rather than a typical on off switch. The sequin panels were put on the wall and on the door to the room. Students are able to walk or wheel their wheelchairs over to the sequin panel and play when they are upset, or when they are in need of sensory input. Even staff have loved coming over and using them! One of them is near a bean bag chair that the students are using more since it is near the sequin panels. The giant fish bubble tube that lights up is in the corner of the room. The students, as one is seen in the picture I posted, are able to use it and especially love looking at it when the lights in the classroom are off. It is very helpful in assisting students in calming down when upset, frustrated, or in sensory overload. The other sensory toys are in a bin available for students to grab and use when needed. \r\n\r\nThe students are using these materials and already making progress in decreasing their behavior and that is because of your generosity!
