They have a tremendous addition to our library and have made it so much easier for all my students to complete their activities in the library even if they don't have a table to sit at. Much of seating is couch style seating and sitting on the rug which is not ideal for students completing assignments that involve writing, coloring, etc. Having these clipboards to lean on has made such a huge impact. This project was a wonderful way to get things started in my new position as Library Media Specialist this school year. Having tissues, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, hand soap and paper towels allowed me to welcome my students into a clean space where they could learn and read and not have to worry about getting sick. I have been able to wipe down and disinfect all the surfaces that students touch most often and keep our library a clean and germ free space. Prior to my library getting refurbished by your donations it was an area my students did not even go near. Many students struggle with reading as it is, and that would make them refrain from participating in independent reading. But now that I am able to provide them with titles that they are familiar with and enjoy I noticed that more students are eager to visit the library. \r\n I often see students attending to read the Dog Man books along with the Bad Guys and Junior B.Jones. I sorted the books by different categories and now I'm able to witness my students participating in independent reading. Since we now have the entire Dog Man series, I noticed that my students are trying to finish one book before jumping to the next. Once again thank you so much for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1746785813742,"projectUrl":"project/these-third-graders-need-books-that-capt/9297875/","projectTitle":"These Third Graders Need Books that Captivate Their Attention!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mercedes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10009040_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y235&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768268330606","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10009040"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_81329","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":552,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":81329,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chaplin Watters Elementary School 24 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Chaplin Watters Elementary School 24","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/jersey-city-public-school-district/chaplin-watters-elementary-school-24/81329"}
