As pre-k students, playing is their work and the majority of their work is done on the rug. They sit on the rug for morning message and greeting time where they learn what their day will entail. They work on the rug at play time using it as a safe place to build with a variety of blocks and other building materials and to drive cars and trucks and go on adventures to imaginary worlds! During movement and music time they jump, hop, dance and roll around on the rug. The rug is an essential part of our classroom and our existing one is over ten years old. Having a new rug that is clean and fresh will give my students a healthy and safe place to work.
