Many had never seen flexible seating options in a science classroom before, and they quickly began rotating turns to use the desks during group work and lab activities. These standing desks have become a favorite spot for students who prefer to move or stand while thinking, reading, or collaborating. It's been wonderful to see how something as simple as a change in posture can re-energize engagement and focus, especially during long class periods.\r\n\r\n Those at the standing desks took on leadership roles, managing materials and guiding their peers through each stage of the model-building process. The increased movement seemed to promote collaboration and creativity—students stayed on task, shared ideas more freely, and showed genuine enthusiasm for their work.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students will continue to use these desks during inquiry-based investigations and presentations. These tables have drastically changed the way I teach Math in my classroom. Students are excited and eager to show their math work because they know they get to write on the tables instead of having to use boring old paper and pencil. They are more engaged and willing to solve the problems, even though Math might not be their favorite subject.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the tables, their faces lit up. They couldn't believe the generosity of others and the gift that was given to their classroom. They immediately wanted to get to work.
