Students were no longer looking for rooms to duck into in order to change, as the partitions allowed for us to create dressing room spaces for students to change in.\r\nAdditionally, our costumes were able to be hung and organized much more efficiently with the Z-Rails we got! With the use of the wheels, we were able to tuck away the costumes quickly so that they weren't interfered with during regular school hours.\r\nStudents were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to feel like there was more of a \"traditional\" dressing room space. While we still have a ways to go, this project helped create a space that felt both more inclusive and safe for students. We hope to be able to continue to transform our space into something that serves all of our students during our productions!","fullyFundedDate":1767633359129,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-theatre-dressing-room-space/9889663/","projectTitle":"Creating a Theatre Dressing Room Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Prib","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6839626_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y28&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1569029482844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rpribish"},{"teacherId":6839626,"projectId":8876185,"letterContent":"My students absolutely loved getting to interact with these scripts! We read All My Sons in the first half of the year and students were able to discuss the idea of how someone can make bad choices in an attempt to protect others. They were able to talk about their own personal stances. We drew parallels to today and how people justify the choices they make and how it can be much easier looking in from the outside to judge people's choices.\r\nAdditionally, students LOVED Much Ado About Nothing! This foray into Shakespeare wasn't what they expected. When Shakespeare is taught in the ELA classroom, it is usually a tragedy. Students were able to relate to the idea of miscommunication and a love/hate relationship. One of my classes was so upset by the ending (HOW could Hero still want to marry Claudio?!) that we changed their final project for the unit and they wrote new endings that were more satisfactory to them!\r\nAt the start of each Act, as a class, the students gave a recap of what had happened so far in the play in order to make sure we were all up to speed. It was amazing to see them all interact with this centuries old text and have the realization that in terms of friends meddling in relationships, not much has changed!","fullyFundedDate":1731536848050,"projectUrl":"project/scripts-for-advanced-drama-classes/8876185/","projectTitle":"Scripts for Advanced Drama Classes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Prib","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6839626_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y28&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1569029482844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rpribish"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82269","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":912,"numTeachers":78,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":57,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":36.0,"schoolId":82269,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hillside High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hillside High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/hillside-school-district/hillside-high-school/82269"}
