There are over 520 students in my elementary building, ranging from PREK-5th grade. Many of our students come to us each day with trauma in their past, emotional regulation difficulties, and general sensory demands. With the right tools, we have effectively implemented strategies to assist them with having a successful school day. \r\n For example, many of our students require noise-reduction headphones to attend assemblies or even just enjoy lunch with their peers. I've noticed that teachers and their students are now requesting this tool when needed. That's been one of the best parts of this initiative - seeing the students ask for what they need to be successful. Another tool that has been utilized almost daily is the flexible tube fidgets. So many times a student is referred to the office or guidance for a \"break\" and when they choose an object from our calming kits it seems to most often be those tubes. \r\n Teachers have been appreciative of the new tools and headphones as well. Having the ability to meet students' sensory and emotional needs on the spot can be the difference between a child missing instruction when having to leave the classroom or being able to pick a tool and stay in class. This 100% directly affects their learning in a positive way when they can calm themselves in class - and not be directed to the office. I know that my teachers are thankful for your generosity and are grateful for these items every day. \r\n Thank you again for being a \"hero\" in our eyes. You have tremendously helped our school and directly impacted the many students here at Kuser School.","fullyFundedDate":1733158714441,"projectUrl":"project/what-zone-are-you-in-tools-for-success/8530242/","projectTitle":"What Zone Are You In?
