This year, the additional hands-on materials have not only boosted their comprehension of the material but also ignited their enthusiasm to learn about how familiar life observations occur.\r\n\r\nWhen my 7th-grade students saw the speaker and amplifier, they immediately made connections from their own lives. The overarching question of the unit was: 'How can a sound make something move?' We started with an interesting phenomenon: a truck playing loud music in a parking lot causes the windows of a building across the lot to visibly shake. With your help, my students were able to replicate and investigate this phenomenon firsthand in the classroom.\r\n\r\nMy 6th graders loved exploring how a one-way mirror works, helping them develop their own questions and predictions to investigate.
